Taylor Swift has called off her sold-out show in Bangok following a coup d'etat in Thailand leading to military rule. Concert promoter BEC-Tero called the choice "a difficult decision for all parties."
The concert would have taken place on June 9 and is just one in a series of performances the singer has scheduled in Asia. The singer-song writer tweeted to fans following the decision.
I'm sending my love to the fans in Thailand. I'm so sad about the concert being canceled.— Taylor Swift (@taylorswift13) May 27, 2014
The coup was a result of months of political strife and has led to other artists cancelling their shows as well.
