The demand to watch George Jones' memorial service was so high, the live streams crashed the internet! Several streaming sites were down after attempting to feature the event.
Former First Lady Laura Bush and former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee were among those who participated in the public memorial for late country legend George Jones at the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville today.
Bush and Huckabee shared some words about the singer who died last week at the age of 81. CBS News' Bob Schieffer, singer Barbara Mandrell and Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam were also on the speakers' list.
The star-studded send off also included musical performances from artists like Charlie Daniels, Alan Jackson, Brad Paisley, Vince Gill, Wynonna, Tanya Tucker and Kid Rock.
The ceremony was open to the public and will be aired on local Nashville stations as well as CMT, GAC and FamilyNet. The Grand Ole Opry website also carried the ceremony online at opry.com.
