With KFAN's Paul Allen broadcasting LIVE from the Xcel Energy penalty box Thursday morning, Minnesota Wild head coach Mike Yeo joined the show and broke some news regarding the Wild's young prospect Mikael Granlund. Joining the show via the phone line, Yeo shared that Granlund will be a healthy scratch from tonight's game against the Vancouver Canuck's and will be watching the game from the press box.

"We've got 'Granny' coming out tonight," Yeo told KFAN.

Earlier this week, Granlund and Devin Setoguchi were sent down from the second line to the fourth line as Yeo began the process of sending a message to his slow starting team.

"There was a few games where [Mikael Granlund] was less than good," Yeo continued. "Probably even less than average. When you do that you kind of put yourself in this situation. It's just up to him as a young player to make sure he stays hungry, stays ready and when we call him then he's ready to go."

Granlund is just the latest odd man out tonight as Yeo continues to shuffle lines in hopes to insert the newly acquired Mike Rupp and jump start the Wild's struggling offense.

Yeo mentioned that he had already discussed the situation with Granlund Thursday morning and expects that the rookie will be seeing more ice time in one way, shape or form before too long.

"Certainly we'll make sure that he's not sitting around not playing games and just watching from the press box," Yeo said. "Whether that's in here (Minnesota) or down there (Houston), we haven't even thought about that yet because this is just what we're focused on for tonight as far as the lineup."

The Granlund-less Wild will take to the ice tonight at 7pm against the Vancouver Canucks (5-2-2).
