The NHL announced the 48-game schedule today and the Minnesota Wild will begin the season at home against the Colorado Avalanche on Saturday 1/19 at 8:00pm (Hockey Day Minnesota). It will be the first of three home games to start the season.
The Wild will play 48 games in this shortened season, all of which will be against the Western Conference. They will play teams from the Central Division (DET, STL, CHI, CLB, NSH) and Pacific Division (DAL, ANA, LAK, SJS, PHX) three times each. They will play four games each against Northwest Division foes Vancouver and Edmonton while playing Colorado and Calgary five games each.
New Wild Defenseman Ryan Suter will face his former team, the Nashville Predators, on Tuesday 1/22, the third game of the season, while returning to Nashville for the first time since signing with the Wild on Saturday 3/9. Because the Wild will not face the Eastern Conference, new forward Zach Parise will not face his former team, the New Jersey Devils.
The Wild closes the regular season with the same team they started it with, at Colorado on Saturday 4/27.
All games can be heard on the radio home of Minnesota Wild hockey 100.3 FM, the FAN!
