    5. Subscriptions
Think outside the box for this one. There's of course subscriptions to magazines and cheeses or wines of the month, but there's also things like movie theater ticket subscriptions for movie lovers. Or if you're willing to clutter your recommendations list, you could even gift your top-secret Netflix password.

This is another DIY gift worthy of a simple Google search to conjure up some ideas. Skimp on the unoriginal box of chocolates and make a candy bouquet by hand, or there's also booze bouquet ideas out there.

    8. '52 Things I Love About You' Deck of Cards
Buy a cheap deck of cards and then tape or glue pieces of paper onto the middle of the numbered side. Write on each card what you love about your companion, then hole punch and bind with ribbon or one of those metal loopholes.

    9. Mixed CD
Talk about old school! But a music lover would probably get a kick out of this throwback gift of a mixed CD with your fav songs or songs that remind you of your partner. Decorate the CD itself and design an album cover and one of those inner booklets that explains why you chose each song.
